UPSC Mains does not officially define strict word limits, but based on UPSC guidelines and topper strategies, the following standards are recommended:

20 questions × 10 marks = 150 words each. 10 questions × 15 marks = 250 words each. Total paper = 250 marks, 3 hours.
Same structure as GS Paper 1. For constitutional questions, mentioning relevant acts and articles within the word limit is important.
Answers with data and statistics are more impactful. Practice writing data + analysis + way forward within 150 words.

Word count in Hindi works slightly differently. This tool counts each Hindi word the same as an English word.
