Character Counter — Free Online Tool

Character count includes every letter, space, and punctuation mark. Word count only counts words separated by spaces. "Hello World" = 2 words, 11 characters (with space) or 10 characters (without space).

Each Hindi letter (akshar) counts as one character. Matras (like ा, ि, ी) are also counted as separate characters. "भारत" = 5 characters. This tool counts all of them accurately.

Twitter counts CJK scripts as 2 characters each. This may also apply to Hindi in some cases. Twitter's internal character counting can differ slightly from a standard count.

For Google, the ideal meta title length is 50-60 characters. Titles longer than 60 characters get truncated in search results. For meta descriptions, 150-155 characters is best.
